Annual Meeting / October 21-23, 2015
Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, Ponte Vedra, Florida

2015 Annual Meeting Minutes

It takes energy to make useable energy. It takes energy to clean the air we breathe. It takes energy to get and clean the water we drink. It takes energy to get the fuel to make usable energy. As we see with the drive toward clean energy and away from coal, as the President said something to the effect, “You can use coal but it will bankrupt you,” we are moving into a new energy era. Hence the theme for this year’s annual meeting:

Transitioning To A New Energy Era

It is impossible to make or do anything without energy. And, the cost of energy impacts everything we make or do.

What is it? What will I need? What will it take to survive? Where will I get it? Where am I and where is my company in this transition?

Climate Change/Green House Gases (GHG)/Manmade Global Warming has been and continues to be the driver for the Administration and their supporters. With the 2014 Clean Power Plan proposal and upcoming final rule, this administration is reshaping the energy landscape for the future, picking winners and losers and raising the cost of energy to drive the need of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources. This is without regard to the increased costs of energy adversely impacting the poor, less fortunate, retired people on fixed incomes and all those people and companies who cannot afford the increased capital and operating cost to survive or compete in a globally competitive marketplace. Whenever energy costs go up something has to go. Sometimes, it is the company.

This year’s Annual Meeting will consider where we are, where we are going and what can we expect as we plan for the future.
