2017 Annual Meeting Papers

39th Annual Meeting / October 18-20, 2017
Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

The convergence of radically changing energy, environmental, economic and social drivers is complicating the political drama being played out as President Trump takes control and endeavors to fill the management level appointed positions to move his agenda forward. By the time we get to the Annual Meeting, we should have a fairly solid idea of what, where, when and how it will all come together. While the lessons of the past provide a great source of knowledge, changes that are happening create new opportunities to look for new way to address the current problems. The old ways to address our energy and environmental issues must be reconsidered and brought into the new era of social activism. Hence this year’s annual meeting theme:

Leveraging Today’s Opportunities to Meet Tomorrow’s Challenges

It is impossible to make or do anything without energy

Our member companies provide goods and services that support the social, economic and environmental well-being of this great nation we call home. They make products and provide services that improve the communities; allow increased life expectancy, improve our standard of living; and promote environmental stewardship and progress. It takes energy to do that. Sustainability at the corporate and institutional level will continue to be the mantra of the activist – share holder or environmentalist. CIBO’s expertise integrating energy and environmental issues is one way we can help our members define, plan, and implement a sustainable business future.

This year’s Annual Meeting will look at and consider the new environment and potential opportunities to meet the challenges of tomorrow. We will consider that as we address how we continue to address the day to day environmental compliance, enforcement and permitting problems within this new energy era of radical energy, environmental, economic, social and political change.
